I would like to inform you that on 18th of April on the system of monitoring of road transport of goods came into force. The law applies to the carriage of excisable goods (according to the definition of Poland). The penalties became applicable from 1st of May.
For certain types of cargo, a notification will have to be created in the SENT system.
The system will then issue you an application number, which should then be used for road, air and ocean shipments.
The types of cargo a SENT reference number is required for, include, but are not limited to certain types of oil and acid, and cargo classified with the following HS codes:
- 3403
- 2710
- 2905
- 2707
- 2917
- 3824
- 3826
- 2207
- 3811
Shipments to Poland:
When you ship goods which are covered by the SENT regulations to Poland, you are obliged to mention the SENT application number in your booking. This number should be requested by the recipient in Poland in the SENT system and it has a validity of 10 days.
Shipments from Poland:
When you import goods which are covered by the SENT regulations from Poland, you are also obliged to mention the SENT application number in your booking. The shipper in Poland should provide you this SENT application number.
Transit:
The Carrier has to submit the notification in the case of carriage of goods starting and ending outside the territory of Poland
